Sacred Sound • Mantra • Inner Alignment
Eagleroad invites you to an evening dedicated to the voice, sacred sound and the connection that arises when we use our voices together.
We are grateful to welcome Kevin James and his partner Susana back to Eagleroad. Together, they will create a space where voice, breath, vibration and mantra become pathways to presence, inner balance and connection.
Voice of Medicine is an invitation to explore the voice beyond performance. You do not need to know how to sing or have any previous experience. We work with the voice we already have — allowing sound to move through the body and listening to what arises.
Kevin and Susana will guide us through sacred sounds, mantra, heartsongs and voice exploration. We will experience how our individual voices can become part of something larger when we come together in sound.
The workshop also draws on the essence of Bhakti — using the voice as an expression of the heart and a way of connecting more deeply with ourselves and each other.
MANTRAS, HEARTSONGS & THE VOICE
Mantras have been used across cultures and spiritual traditions for generations. Through repetition, breath and vibration, sound can bring our attention away from the thinking mind and back into the body and the present moment.
Heartsongs bring another dimension to this practice - simple songs and words that can be sung together and felt rather than performed.
Throughout the evening, Kevin and Susana will invite us to explore sound through the natural voice, Chakra Voice Exploration and the Active AUM Meditation.
There is no right or wrong voice here.
It is about listening, expressing and experiencing what happens when we allow our voices to meet.

About Kevin James
Kevin James Carroll was born in a small village called Lorne, on the Victorian coast of Australia.
Even though he grew up in a nonmusical family, and there was little or no support for his talents, Kevin’s confidence and love for singing was with him from an early age, where he sang for his family at Christmas and was always chosen to be a lead singer at school speech nights.
His first instrument was the harmonica, and it wasn’t until his 21st birthday party that he discovered the guitar, when a stranger appeared and offered to play him a song as a birthday gift. This experience awakened his calling for music, within the space of a year he was performing locally, and invitations started to come from the nearby city of Melbourne.
Things seemed to be going very well, playing with the idea of becoming a musician, but Kevin felt there was something else he was to offer with music. The feeling was so strong in him and he knew that he had to find out what it was. So he left his home with his guitar to follow a childhood dream of traveling the world. He first went to Asia, where he discovered for the first time, the teachings of the East; Tibetan Buddhism, Dzogchen, Hindu, chanting and yoga.
